Frequency Expressions

Frequency expressions say how often an action happens. They are useful for hobbies and daily routines.

Examples

Siempre desayuno en casa.

I always eat breakfast at home.

Normalmente leo por la noche.

I normally read at night.

A veces juego al tenis.

I sometimes play tennis.

Casi nunca veo la televisión.

I hardly ever watch television.

Nunca trabajo los domingos.

I never work on Sundays.

These expressions often go before the verb. A veces can also begin the sentence, as in A veces cocino con mi hermano.

Watch out

When nunca comes before the verb, do not add no: Nunca corro. Frequency expressions often accompany the present tense.
